Ryan Hamilton, CIA, CFE

Ryan Hamilton joined the Office of Audit, Risk, and Compliance in June 2018.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia Tech and a Master in Policy Leadership from Georgetown University.  He is also a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).  In OARC, Ryan is responsible for managing the office’s comprehensive quality assurance program, developing general audit skills, and leading the special projects teams, which comprise investigative reviews, advisory service activites, and the data analytics program.

Before coming home to Virginia Tech, Ryan spent almost 14 years working for the Central Intelligence Agency.  For the majority of his agency career, Ryan worked in the Office of Inspector General, working in both the Office of Investigations and the Office of Audits.  He specialized in financial investigations, compliance reviews, and performance audits of sensitive programs.
